Penland, North Carolina

Kreh Mellick was born in Oldwick, New Jersey USA in 1982. She attended the
Rhode Island School of Design pre‐college program during high school, which led her to
Maine College of Art where she received a BFA in Illustration and Drawing. Her drawings
relate dark and whimsical tales from childhood folk stories and her own imagination and
have been a constant way to share an inner dialogue that is not easily communicated in
words. Kreh is currently finishing a two‐year fellowship at Penland School of Crafts in
North Carolina, where she has been able to broaden her technical vocabulary and
experiment with a wide array of media including bookmaking, letterpress printing and
printmaking. Her work has been part of several group exhibitions and she has had two
recent solo exhibitions as part of her Penland fellowship.
