Mara Friedland is pursuing a Masters in Fine Arts with a concentration in Metals. Currently, she is focused on the idea of growth and is exploring new techniques with enamels. In her work, she uses silver, gold and enamel.

Of her work, Mara writes:

My jewelry and metalwork are about the spaces of nature that are not often viewed at first glance. I love gardens and the patterns of growth, but am most fascinated by looking at a flower up close. The patterns on the petals and the complex morphology of plants are both fascinating. A full life force is found in such a small area revealing secrets of nature. Through creating jewelry and enameling I celebrate these intricacies.
