For the month of March, Rebus @ Stitch features the mixed-media works of Sarah Blackmon. Opening for First Friday, March 5, the exhibition will be on view through March 27.

Sarah holds a Bachelor of Art + Design from North Carolina State University (2005) and is currently pursuing a degree in graphic design. She is a member of Blam!, an artist-run group studio in Boylan Heights. Word and news obsessed, Sarah's work in this exhibition calls out bits and pieces of the information we constantly absorb. Gleaned from newspaper headlines, recipes, and classroom critiques, the words (and the mixed-media pieces that house them) aim to present the tension between receiving and making. She exhibited with her Blam! studiomates at the Morning Times Gallery in September 2009.
